Dr. Michael Hailey practices Breast Surgical Oncology at Ochsner Health. He's one of the regions most experienced breast surgeons, who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and diseases of the breast. Dr. Hailey is a strong proponent of multidisciplinary care, working with all medical specialties to ensure state-of-the-art patient treatment. I believe this care begins at the time of a breast cancer diagnosis and carried into survivorship, he says. Dr. Hailey also has been instrumental in developing crucial support programs for patients diagnosed with breast cancer. He will continue working with professionals throughout the Baton Rouge area to provide better education and care for all breast patients.A native of Louisville, Mississippi, Dr. Hailey earned a medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed a residency in general surgery at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of numerous professional organizations: American College of Surgeons, Louisiana Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Breast Surgeons, National Consortium of Breast Centers, American Society of Breast Disease, and Southeastern Surgical Congress.
