Dr. Kafa received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Tishreen University in Syria. He completed Internal Medicine training at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He then went on to receive Cardiology training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA, where he was Chief Fellow. Subsequently he underwent training in Interventional Cardiology and Structural Heart Disease at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Kafa is Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. His areas of expertise include valve disease and interventions (such as TAVR), structural heart interventions (left atrial appendage, PFO, ASD) as well as complex coronary interventions and peripheral vascular disease. Dr. Kafa is a a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
