Dr. William Mangham is a neurosurgeon at Ochsner Health with a special interest in minimally invasive spine procedures. Dr. Mangham attended medical school at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. He completed both residency training and a fellowship in spine surgery at the Semmes-Murphey Clinic and the University of Tennessee in Memphis.Prior to becoming a physician, Dr. Mangham graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2004. The events of 9/11/2001 occurred in his sophomore year and inspired him to join the Marines, in which he served as an officer for over five years. He completed three deployments, including combat service in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley and during the 2007 troop "surge" in Iraq's Anbar province. He was honorably discharged as a Captain. Dr. Mangham is a native of Mobile, Alabama, and he is happy to be back on the Gulf Coast with his wife and three children.
