Ochsner actively looks to partner with other organizations in the area to improve the health of our citizens. Many of the major problems that confront our community are beyond the ability of only one organization to solve. Ochsner has identified key areas where our clinical and management expertise can help the community.

Fit NOLA

Ochsner has teamed up with the City of New Orleans Health Department to be an active partner in the Fit NOLA Initiative. Fit NOLA is a collaborative partnership launched by the City of New Orleans in 2012, it was developed with broad community input and provides a roadmap for our community to reach our goal of improving the physical and nutritional fitness for those who live, learn, work, and play in New Orleans. In 2014, Ochsner Health was awarded the Fit NOLA Business Gold Award.

St. Charles Parish Hospital

Living its commitment to providing quality healthcare close to home, Ochsner has established a partnership with St. Charles Parish Hospital (SCPH). SCPH is vital to the health and well being of the parish as it is the only hospital serving the parish’s 52,000 residents. However, due to the small size and rural location, SCPH has struggled with recruiting and retaining physicians, particularly specialists. The focus of the partnership is to utilize Ochsner’s diverse system resources to support the operation and growth of the parish hospital. Ochsner assists in filling clinical gaps in service and expanding clinical services by recruiting physicians and specialists as well as providing administrative support. Ochsner provides various consulting services to the hospital including emergency room design, preparation for Joint Commission, human resource and clinical policy and procedure review, continuing education for clinical personnel, clinical orientation for specialized services and performance benchmark analysis.
