Leise Knoepp, MD

Leise Knoepp, MD, MPH, is a urogynecologist with Ochsner Health. Dr. Knoepp offers medical, behavioral and surgical treatment options for women with pelvic floor disorders. She believes every patient should take an active part in the management of their care. Dr. Knoepp is experienced in a variety of traditional and minimally invasive treatment options and works with each patient to determine the best plan of care. She is also dedicated to improving her field through teaching and continued research efforts.A native of Louisiana, Dr. Knoepp received her medical degree at Louisiana State Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Prior to that, she completed her master's degree in public health from Emory Rollins School of Public Health in Atlanta. As an obstetrics and gynecology resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Knoepp served as chief resident and was recognized for teaching fellow residents. She recently completed a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (urogynecology) at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, in Baltimore, where she received competitive national research grants and was honored as best fellow teacher by her peers.She is a member of the the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Urogynecologic Society.

Best care I've had

Dr. Knoepp is a delight! She is very thorough and used every moment during the visit to educate me in all aspects of my reason for the visit. She explained all possible treatments after the Hand P was complete, again educating about each one which allowed me to make an informed decision on the plan of care. I could feel how much she cared about helping me thru my problem. Ochsner Is a better place because of her!

The staff was prompt, caring and very informative. The staff took time to keep me abreast. The doctor made me fell that my care was important to her. I was referred by 3 of my doctors to see Dr Knoppe because they said she’s the best. She was very thorough about wanting to know my background. Her nurses were very thorough also and helped to make me feel comfortable with them also. I didn’t and don’t feel uncomfortable with what she did to me for my exam. This doctor could just said ok let’s schedule surgery for my problems of a prolapsed rectum and prolapsed bladder, she didn’t. Instead we are gonna try a few things that could help certain muscles. Then recheck everything in a few months. To me that was a relief, all my other doctors just kept saying surgery. I’ve asked some of my other doctors if they ever heard of her and some said they’ve never heard of her or her specialist name before. That was a little unsettling to me about them! But let’s just sum this all up with if your in need of a doctor that checks all the boxes choose her. I think/know you will be happy.
